Heinrich Heine Park
The Heinrich-Heine-Park about 0 km from Rudolstadt
If you want to relax a little bit in the middle of the city of Rudolstadt you can visit the Heinrich-Heine-Park in Rudolstadt. About 3 hectares in size, this park offers large meadows to relax, many trees to seek shade and many interesting corners to explore. For children there is a playground and also dog owners come here at their expense. In the park to find there are many native tree species, such as chestnut, oak, beech, etc..
Since it is located directly in the city, it borders on the Saale River, so you also have a great view of it from the park. Sports fields, the outdoor swimming pool, the fairground and the residential area Cumbach are also nearby.
A real sight of Rudolstadt is located in the south of the park: the Thuringian farmhouses. If you have the chance you should not miss this museum about the peasant life of that time. Another attraction is a monument of the senior citizens’ convention of Rudolstadt, this can be recognized by the columns set up in a circle. It was inaugurated in 1927.
The park is a popular meeting place for young and old. Thus, the Rudolstadt Festival in the Park is also held every year on the first weekend in July. In 2023, this would be July 6 to 9.
