Greifenstein Castle in the climatic health resort of Bad Blankenburg

The castle lies high above the resort of Bad Blankenburg, at the entrance to the romantic Schwarzatal. In former times it was the ancestral seat of the counts and princes of Schwarzburg, as well as the cradle of German King Günter XXI.
As one of the largest feudal castles in Germany, it is surrounded by a unique nature reserve, which not only invites for relaxing hiking.
In the small castle museum you can visit an exhibition on the history of the castle. Guided tours are offered for groups and the castle tavern provides for the physical well-being.
