The Fröbel Museum in Oberweißbach

Oberweißbach approx. 29.7 km (max. 38 min. by car) from Rudolstadt

Friedrich Fröbel, the great pre-school teacher and founder of the kindergartens was born in Oberweißbach on April 21, 1782. In his honour, a memorial museum was set up in his birthplace at the market in 1982. The permanent exhibition “Traditionszimmer Olitätenhandel” is intended to provide information about the emergence of the ancient trade and provides information about the use of local medicinal plants in the past and present.

Tourist information & Herbal shops

On the ground floor there is also a tourist information office and a small herbal shop. Herbal products, natural remedies, herbs for kitchen and cellar, froebel toys, herbal and froebel literature, souvenirs and individually made gifts are offered for sale here. In addition, the local Fröbelstadt Marketing GmbH conducts herbal seminars.
